Please pass on my thanks to the awesome team at Tekau Ma lwa for their mahi. My son just got home from going to get his covid vaccination with his Dad. The staff were awesome, friendly and kind (and gave his Dad a flu shot at the same time).
My son loved the coloring in, the treats and writing his name on the whiteboard. Thanks to all the staff for creating such a cool, supportive environment for whanau. And all the helpful info for looking after him after his vaccine.
So far it’s been great! We have meet two Whaiora nurses and they have been awesome! and Amelia loves them too!
A huge thank you to Whaiora and Michelle. I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle Bird at a time in my life where I needed help to get me back on my feet after loosing everything in a house fire, including my sister that I had been looking after for the last 3 years. Michelle was sympathetic and and very professional with helping me deal with WINZ to get finance to move into a house and guide me along the journey. The outcome was favourable and I could not of done it by myself.
That it was absolutely amazing I was surprised that there was a need for an event like this but I can see why. It encourages wahine to not only get their important smear done in a comfortable safe environment along with other women (not just the nurses all the friendly staff of Whaiora)
It also allows wahine to take the time needed for themselves to ensure physically and mentally we are healthy. I feel as a women we don’t always put our needs first and are busy looking after everyone else but this night reminded me to stop and take the time to remember I need to think about my own health eg do my body checks ect. I never thought I would say but I look forward to my next smear check and thank you to all the passionate team at Whaiora.
I look forward to my visits with her. She offers great advice, listens, and has such a lovely caring nature towards my children. We really appreciate the home visits living rurally. I cant praise her enough and much prefer our care under Whaiora to what we received under Plunket.
