Whaiora is seeking kaimahi, who are passionate about whanau, and ready to join our dynamic team.

Social Worker     

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about social work and want to be part of a fun, interactive and caring team? 

Do you have a qualification in Social Work (or in your last year of study) or in a discipline relevant to working with children and their whanau? You will have experience in community work and in building good relationships with support agencies and whānau. You will need to be results driven with exceptional time management to meet contractually driven KPI’s. If you can answer yes, then we want to hear from you now!


Whānau Worker

32 - 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday

If you have a passion for Whānau Ora, improving health outcomes for Māori and hold a qualification related to health, then this is the job for you!

You will excel in relationship building, be experienced working with whānau who have health and/or social needs and want to empower whānau to reach their potential through education, advocacy and support.  You will be an effective communicator, results driven with excellent time management skills.

Personal Qualities

•Able to manage caseloads, conducting risk, strength and needs assessments. 

•Highly effective written and oral communication skills, with sound prioritisation and time management skills 

•Practices te reo me ōna Tikanga 

•Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and good report writing skills

•Maintain accurate client records and files in client management system 

•Full, clean, current drivers licence

Please note that this role will require safety checking through the police vetting system under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014.
