Kaiārahi Community Health Worker - 40 hours per week

Whaiora is seeking a full-time Kaikōkiri to join our Kaiārahi team. Kaiārahi will work alongside priority whānau to develop plans, measure progress, and achieve their aspirations. 

 

The key skills and competencies required are:

• excellent interpersonal communication skills

• excellent time management and organisational skills 

• an ability to respond to the challenges of the working environment

• an ability to keep accurate client information, to align with our work standards

• an ability to engage with individuals, families and whānau with high needs

 

The person who will thrive in this role is someone who: 

• is competent in Te Reo Māori (highly desirable)

• has knowledge of the Wairarapa Community (highly desirable)

• is a competent user of IT, which supports us to get the job done

• is organised and maintains accurate documentation

• has the ability to write reports, in an accurate and timely manner

• has effective time management and organisational skills 

• is a team player but can also work autonomously

• has the ability to self-reflect and exercise self-care

• values effective communication – speaks, listens, and writes well

• has a current and clean full New Zealand driver’s license

 

Please note that this role will require safety checking through the police vetting system under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.
